Family Support Group

When a loved one is experiencing Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or another form of memory loss, having people to turn to can make a meaningful difference. A support group offers an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of caregiving, connect with others who understand, and gain information you can use along the way.
Rexford Park and Fieldstone of Yakima have joined together to provide a free Memory Care Support Group for family members and caregivers. The group is designed to be a comfortable, welcoming place where you can share your experiences, ask questions, listen to others, and build connections with people facing similar circumstances.
A Place to Share, Learn, and Connect
Caregiving does not come with a single roadmap. Your loved one’s needs may change over time, and you may encounter new questions at every stage. Being part of a supportive group can give you an opportunity to hear how others have approached similar situations while learning more about memory care and dementia.
Each gathering offers something a little different, from conversations about the realities of caregiving to presentations from knowledgeable guests. You may discover new approaches to dementia care, learn about services and resources in the community, or simply find comfort in talking with people who have walked a similar path. The group is intended to be a place where caregivers can both gain practical information and feel supported by others.
