When Dana Betsch was seeking a senior living community, she had one very important requirement: it had to be a place where her beloved 5-year-old cat, Taz, was just as welcome as she was! 🐱Her sister chose The Chesterley, where Dana’s now lived since December 2025.
Dana is always on the go, whether she's:
🧶 Knitting with our weekly knitting club
🌱 Tending to her garden
📖 Co-leading a weekly Bible discussion group
🥰 Giving hugs to one of her favorite servers, Yadi
Dana grew up in Selah with her sister, who is only 11 months younger than her. They rode horses through the orchards, eating crisp apples and sharing this special treat with their horses. “There’s nothing better than a fresh apple off a tree,” Dana fondly remembered.
Dana raised a Grand Champion sheep in high school and was a star cross cross-country and track runner (the 2-mile was her specialty) in both high school and college. And now she continues to remain active at Rexford Park!
The friendliness of employees and fellow residents stands out to Dana. “They must choose staff based on how friendly they are,” she remarked.
She admits transitioning from her 3-bedroom home to a cozy studio apartment was initially challenging, but she learned valuable wisdom from this experience that she wants to share with others. “I realize now things are just things,” she said. “You don’t need to be attached to those things. It’s hard to learn, but it is a good perspective.”
We are so grateful to have Dana (and Taz!) filling our halls with smiles, stories, and warmth every day. ... See MoreSee Less

Meet Rob Millian: Bringing Joy and Purpose to Rexford Park
When you ask Rob (our Assistant Plant Ops) about his work, he’ll tell you it’s more than just maintenance. He finds true joy in serving residents, even in the simplest actions that bring smiles to their faces like fixing the time on a microwave or helping bring in groceries.
Rob’s first job in senior living goes back to 15 years old as a dishwasher and waiter in California. When he moved to Washington and started working at Rexford Park, he described it as second nature.
“This is why I do it,” Rob shared. “It makes me smile. It gives me a purpose.”
Rob enjoys enthusiastic waves from a resident nicknamed Big Foot and kind greetings from Jeanie. As a fishing enthusiast, he enjoyed a special fishing trip with residents. “Ernie was using my fishing pole and bringing in all the fish!” Rob calls him “blue giggies” because he loves blue gill fishing just as much as he does. There's nothing quite like watching their faces beam when they feel the tug on their line.
It makes sense that Rob’s favorite word in our mission statement is joyful. That is the perspective he brings to work every day.
“Once I cross those gates, I’m Rob and I’m here to serve with purpose,” he expressed.
His strength is supported by his wife of 20 years, Erica, who serves in ministry and the local community of Toppinish.
Rob also feels the support from Fieldstone leadership and his fellow teammates. “I’ve never worked with anyone like this in my life,” Rob stated. “They lead by example. They really care for everybody. It’s such a great place to work.”
Thank you, Rob, for showing up with purpose every single day. ... See MoreSee Less
